 The kumquat fruit is like a small orange about three to four cm long. This fruit can be eaten with the peel, which is loaded in essential oils and vitamin C. It has a bittersweet zesty flavour. They are great for making deserts,marmalades and liqueurs. Corfu is only one of the places in Europe where kumquats are grown. It mainly grows in the north part of Corfu, where the climate, rich soil and water make it the best place for the kumquat trees to grow. It blooms in March and April and the fruits are picked in May. | |
